Old Barn Papers

First, I want to thank all of you for commenting on my blog! I can't stress this enough. Just a simple comment lets me know that you were here. It's like smiling at a stranger. More than likely you get a smile back. If we all smiled at everyone, what a better place this world would be. (Hey, it's a start.) I even got to meet some new "faces"!
Some of the photos that I used for this kit came from a web site that Linda at Bonscrapatit mentioned one time. The web site is contained in my TOU along with special thanks to the photographers so if you want to know what the web site is you just have to download the papers. He he. With no further ado I give you the papers to the "Old Barn" kit. Oh, and don't forget, leave me a comment if you want the elements.

Old Barn Sneak Preview

I'm going to do something "different" again. I've been working on a new kit called "Old Barn" but I'm gonna make you work for it. Here's a sneak preview to wet your appetite.

How this is going to work is this way: I will wait until I receive 10 comments under this post. When I receive 10 comments I will release the papers. Then, I need to receive 10 comments on the paper post in order to release the elements. Same thing for the alpha. You can comment as often as you want but only one comment from each different scrapper will be counted towards the goal of 10. Is this as clear as mud to you? I hope I won't get totally embarrassed if I don't receive 10 comments but I know more than 10 people download my kits. Also, I hope no one is offended by this game... it's all for fun. I'm waiting to hear from you. Ready, set, go!

Look Mom! Add-On

Surprise! I couldn't resist giving you one more freebie from this kit after finding this great web site. Isn't the spiral notebook effect the coolest thing! You just have to go visit PanosFX.com to see all the great goodies that he has . . . actions, brushes, etc. It's like getting a bunch of Christmas presents! I made the spiral notebook through an action that I downloaded from him. When I read his terms of use I was unsure if he would consider what I do commercial since I give away everything I design for free so I e-mailed Panos. He promptly wrote me back and let me know that the action could be used since I do not charge any money. I always like to ask each designer about their specific terms if I am unsure about them. Better to be safe than be a pirate! As always I would love for you to leave me a paragraph, or how about a simple sentence. . . or a phrase. O.K. just a few words to let me know that you came to visit me!

Look Mom! Alpha

Check out the cute container that the alpha is in! It's from Deb at The Scrappin' Cop. Go and check out her blog. She has the neatest stuff! This alpha actually has a lot of texture to it. You can't really see it in this preview. Download it and tell me what you think. It's been a lot of fun sharing this colorful kit with you. Now I am ready to see some layouts that you have made. Come on, I know you want to share them!

Look Mom! Elements 2

It's Christmas Eve. As you are hopefully done with all of your shopping, I hope you can relax from the hussle and bustle of the season and really think about why we celebrate Christmas... it is celebrating Jesus' birth, why He came to this earth, and that He will come back. As I will be celebrating Christmas with my family tomorrow I will not be posting the alpha until Friday. Have a Merry Christmas!

Look Mom! Elements 1

I had so much fun making these elements that I couldn't put all of them in one download! Here are the first part of the Elements. If you download this kit, please take a moment to leave me a comment. So many of you are so faithful to do this everytime you visit and I want to thank you for doing that. It REALLY means a lot to me to see that you like my work. If I didn't receive any comments I would not be creating these freebies. Enjoy!

Look Mom! Papers

Merry Christmas! I hope you are ready for a fun kit. I have for you today the papers to the "Look Mom" kit. These papers are large so I split them into 2 downloads. You will need to download BOTH PARTS to get all of the papers. I have put the download links at the bottom of the image. I know that some of you already have layouts planned for this kit so please share them with me. Drop me a comment and let me know where to find your layouts. Have fun and enjoy. I'll post the elements tomorrow.

Look Mom! Sneak Preview

This coming week I am going to share a new kit that I designed that is not the norm for me. In other words, it will not be the earthy tones that I usually choose for my pallette. Instead, I decided to create a fun kit for those of you who have preschoolers and elementary children. Actually, anyone can use this kit but I had children in mind for this kit. Are you one of those moms who keeps all of your children's art work and hates to throw anything that your dear ones have created? Well, why not preserve the memories in scrapbook form? I will start this kit on Monday but here's a sneak preview to wet your appetites!

Christmas Wreath

Here's a little Christmas joy for you. I made a simple wreath for you. As you are gathering around during the holidays I hope you will take time to reflect the Savior's birth and why He came to earth... to save ALL of us.

Burlap Meets Stone Alpha

We're getting ready for Christmas break which means no school for 2 weeks. Yeah! I need a break so I can make more freebies. Hopefully my computer will be cured soon. My husband built it and is a whiz with computers but it's just finding the time to work on it. He is extremely busy with his job right now. Here is the last part of the Burlap Meets Stone Kit-- the alpha. I would love to see layouts that you make from any of my kits so if you post a layout please leave a message on my chat box so I can come and visit you.

Burlap Meets Stone Elements

I'm having computer problems again. My internet explorer does not want to work on my computer so I am on someone else's again. Here are the elements. I'm kind of amazed that I got such a good response from this kit. I really didn't think it would be that popular. The alpha will come out tomorrow. As you are busy with Christmas this year please remember that JESUS is the reason for the season.

Burlap Meets Stone Papers 2

We had an ice storm warning yesterday in our area. I was going to take my MIL to the Memphis airport but found out that her flight was cancelled. I'm kind of glad because I didn't want to go to Memphis in that weather. Her flight wasn't cancelled because of the weather though... they cancelled it due to airplane maintenance.
Today I have more papers for you. Part 2 is quite a large file so I broke it up into 2 downloads so you will need to DOWNLOAD BOTH PARTS to get all of Part 2. I tried to make the files smaller for those of you who have dial-up so it won't take so long. I'll have the elements for you tomorrow.

Burlap Meets Stone Papers 1

Does anyone have a Wii? We're talking about getting one for Christmas but it seems that everyone is sold out of them. We also want to get the Wii Fit. Again, everywhere we look it's always sold out.
Here is the first set of papers to the "Burlap Meets Stone" kit. This kit is kind of different from others that I have done. I'm not so sure about this one. Let me know what you think.

Burlap Meets Stone Sneak Preview

Is it cold in your neck of the woods? It's been very nippy here. Today is my 23rd anniversary so we all went out to eat tonight. I haven't posted in a few days because I've been visiting with my MIL and I've also been hard at work putting together another kit. Since I got a lot of response from my "Wood Meets Denim" kit I've made another kit along those lines...and yet, it's totally different! It's called "Burlap Meets Stone". Here's a sneak preview but you'll have to come back on Monday to start downloading the kit.

Montana Alpha

I have the Montana Alpha for you today. I made this alpha using the Mega-Alpha Cutter. It's a cool action that you might want to purchase for yourself. Did you notice the cute container? Deb at The Scrappin' Cop made it. You can snag it at her blog.
I'm going to pick up my mother-in-law from the airport this afternoon, then on to my daughter's piano recital tonight. Have a blessed day!

Montana Elements

What kind of Christmas traditions do you have in your family? Have you started any new ones? Here are the Montana Elements. I hope you like them. It seems kind of quiet in scrapville. As always, I'd love to know what you think.

Montana Papers

How is everyone today? I've been blog-hopping lately and everyone seems so busy! We went to my daughter's gymnastics meet this past weekend. My other daughter has a piano recital coming up this week. My MIL is also flying in for a visit later this week.

Today I have a new kit that I made for my blog friend, Eila. She lives in Montana and that is where my inspiration came for this kit. You can download the first part today- the papers. Click on the image to download. Enjoy!

Christmas Candle

Hello to all of my friends,
I'm actually typing this on my computer! Yeah! After all the problems I've had with my computer I am finally up and running on it again. I got the new anti-virus that I ordered (Panda) and my husband ran it on my hard drives and found 28 spywares! They have been deleted and I am starting fresh and new.
I am getting into the Christmas spirit. We put up our Christmas tree yesterday. I'm not making a Christmas kit this year as there are so many nice ones out there. If you are looking for Christmas kits, check out Linda's blog at BonScrapatit or Vicki's blog at A Work in Progress as they both have gorgeous kits to download. I am leaving you with a little bit of Christmas spirit - a Christmas Candle. I found this great tutorial on how to make this candle. If you want to make your own, click here for the great tutorial. Click on the image to download.

Wood Meets Denim Alpha

Greetings and Salutations! Has anyone started their Christmas shopping yet? Has anyone finished their Christmas shopping yet? I normally would have started by now but, alas, I have not! Does anyone say "alas" anymore? I like the word. Call me weird.

The saga continues with my computer. I'm hoping to be back up to speed soon. I'm really getting kind of antsy from not being able to create more freebies...seriously! This is the last part to my "Wood Meets Denim" kit. From the downloads it's looks like quite a few of you liked it. It is one of my favorite kits that I have made. Oh, the string that is on the alpha preview is not included in the kit but you can snag it from my Oregon Elements kit as it is the same string.

For any of you new to my blog you can download any of my other kits as well. They are all FREE. I do not sell my kits and don't plan to. You can find all of my kits on the right side. Also, if you don't want to miss any freebie you may want to sign up your e-mail (also on the right).

As always, I would love to hear from you!

Wood Meets Denim Elements 2

I guess it's my turn to have computer problems. When Linda at BonScrapatit was posting about her computer problems with Bit Defender I was thinking to myself, "Oh, no, I have that same anti-virus program because it was rated the best." Well, my computer has caught something. I have ordered a new anti-virus for it and it should be here soon. In the meantime I am typing on my daughter's computer (which I do not like). I am a creature of habit and my daughter's keyboard is not the same keyboard as mine and I don't like the feel of it. I'm just picky, I guess. Anyway, enough of my whining. I have for you today part 2 of the Elements. Please let me know what you think. I will be checking in today and reading my comments so please leave me some love.

This is the part where I would normally place the image and you would download, right. Well, the image is on my computer! Uggh! I do not have access to it but since I have already uploaded it to 4share I have the link for the download. You just don't know what it looks like yet. Trust me when I say that I saved the best for last. (Hint: look at my header if you want a clue). As soon as my computer is up I will post the image. Here's the link:

Oregon Alpha

Who got up at 4am and shopped on this Black Friday? For those of you that do not live in the United States, the day after Thanksgiving is called "Black Friday" and it is considered the busiest shopping day here. Stores have special sales and open VERY early. It is not uncommon to see people waiting in huge lines hours before the store opens to be able to snag the best bargains of the day. It's crazy! Well, you don't have to wait in line for this bargain. I have for you today the alpha to the Oregon kit. It's been really fun designing this kit. I hope you'll leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Also, if you went shopping, what was the bargain of the day that you were able to snag. Inquiring minds want to know!

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. I'm so thankful for all of my scrappin friends who come to visit my blog. Today I'm having a quiet Thanksgiving with my family but I will be back tomorrow with the alpha to the Oregon kit. Until then, ponder on what you are thankful for. Blessings to you! ~Barbara

Oregon Elements

I have seen these date wheels in the scrappin' world so I decided to try my hand at designing one. Please be kind as this is the first time I have made a date wheel. I made a star if you don't want to use the arrow on the date wheel. Also, these are my first attempts at zippers. They are certainly not perfect but I like them. A big thanks goes to Deb at Scrappin Cop for the great resources. I had to throw in some buttons too! As always, leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Enjoy!

Oregon Papers 2

Are you getting ready for Thanksgiving? Here is the second set of papers to the Oregon kit. I would love to see any layouts that you have made with any of my kits. Also, if you are new to my blog and don't want to miss any of my freebies, sign up on the right with your e-mail. Have a blessed day!

Ramblings about 4shared

4shared did contact me and let me know that they have you log in when leaving comments now to prevent spam and abusive messages. With that said I think it's a hassle to leave a comment that way so I have 2 ways for you to leave a comment on my blog. You can always just post a comment under the actual post. I also have installed a new cBox on the right where you can leave a comment very easily. Either way, I obviously want to hear from you!

I have three new kits that I will be posting soon. One is called "Wood Meets Denim" which you have already seen a preview as I have "decorated" my blog with the design. My other two are called "Coldstone" and "Oregon". Mmm . . . which one should I post next? Let me know which you prefer!

Bear kit layout

Catherine from CatzDezign.blogspot.com sent me this beautiful layout using the Bear kit. I would love to see how you are using my kits too so, please, e-mail me and send me your layout(s) or let me know where I can see them. Thanks, Catherine. What a beautiful job in capturing your mother's high school past!

Venice Paper Add-On

Here is the last part of the Venice kit. It is the Paper Add-on ...just a couple of papers that are fun to use a clipping mask with. I did e-mail 4shared and asked them why they changed the way people leave comments when downloading. I am awaiting an answer from them.

Commenting on 4shared

It seems that 4-shared (where you download my freebies) has changed about how you leave a comment. You now have to be logged in to leave a comment which means you need to open up an account if you don't already have one. It is a free account and I would greatly encourage you to open an account so you could leave a comment BUT if you don't want to go through all that you can just leave a comment right here on my site. If you scroll right underneath the post you will see a place that says "# comments". Click on that to leave a comment. Again, I really do read EVERY comment that is posted. O.K., I'll get off my soap box now.

Venice Alpha

I hope this finds you healthy as the days are getting colder in this part of the world. Here is the alpha for the Venice kit. I made this alpha with the thought that I would use it as a capital letter on a word and then use something else for the rest of the word. You can see how I used it in my layout if you scroll down. You, of course, are only limited by your imagination. I would love to see your layouts on any of my kits. One request: most of you do not leave any comment. It only takes a moment to do and I do read each and every one, so please, let me know what you think. Enjoy!

Venice Elements

Hello, It's seems like it's been forever since I've posted. This weekend we went to Jackson for another gymnastics meet and when we got home on Sunday we came home to find that our oldest cat had died while we were gone. My youngest daughter is taking it pretty hard. Sob! On top of that we are all sick with sinus colds and coughs. We are taking it easy today. Here are the elements for the Venice kit. I will post the alpha next. Oh, a big thank you to Deb and Gunhild for resources.

Venice Papers 2

Good morning, good afternoon, or good evening, depending on when you are reading this. Today I am taking my oldest daughter to a Biology lab and we will be there all day but I wanted to post the second installment to the Venice kit before I left. I personally like these papers better than the first ones. What do you think? 1st ones or 2nd ones? Click on the image to download them. Enjoy!

Thursday, November 6, 2008

Venice Papers 1

I'm excited to share a new kit with you today. It's called the Venice kit and it has 5 parts to it. I've been watching to see which kit that I have offered so far is the most popular and it seems that a lot of you have enjoyed the Bear kit so this Venice kit is kind of similar. It has a lot of textured papers to it. I am giving you the 1st set of papers today but, truth be told, I am partial to the 2nd set of papers more but you'll have to come back for those! Oh, I did a couple of layouts of my daughters with this kit. I would love to hear from you! Enjoy!

Bear Paper Add-On

Happy Reformation Day! On this day, October 31st, in 1517, Martin Luther posted a proposal at the doors of a church in Wittenberg, Germany, to debate the doctrine and practice of indulgences. This proposal is popularly known as the 95 Theses, which he nailed to the Castle Church doors.

Here's an add-on to my Bear kit. It's 2 papers from the kit but I have "torn" them. I also saved them as .png files so you can put them on top of another paper and the bottom paper will show through. Thanks go to Gunhild Storeide for the resources. Have a safe weekend.

Soft Fall Papers

Another freebie for you today. These are the papers for the Soft Fall kit.

If you have made any layouts using any of my kits I would love to see them. Please leave me a comment below and let me know where to find your layout (if it is posted on a web site) or you can send it to me in an e-mail (72 ppi resolution, please). You can find my e-mail in my profile. Thanks and have a wonderful day!

Colorado Alpha

It's getting to be that time again when I just feel like hibernating... just sitting at home and not going out. Before computers (I'm dating myself now), when the weather got cold I would like to just stay at home and knit or read. Now, I like to stay at home and sit in front of the computer and work on digi-designs. You know what I'm talking about, don't you? Today, you can download the alpha for the Colorado kit. I made this before I got Deb's wonderful tag action from Scrappin Cop but you will see that later in another kit. Enjoy the day and smile, God loves you!

Colorado Elements

Where has the month of October gone? It seems like it has just flown by! Here are the Colorado Elements that go with the papers from last week. If you are enjoying these freebies, please take a moment to leave a comment. I thank my faithful scrappers who always leave a comment. I feel like I know you personally. Also, if you don't want to miss a freebie, take a moment to subscribe via e-mail. Then, whenever I have a new post, it will be there in your box waiting for you. Enjoy!

Colorado Papers

It's Friday and we are heading down to Jackson as my daughter has a gymnastics meet tonight but I wanted to share the first part of a new kit with you. It's called the Colorado kit. Why Colorado? Why not! Just click on the preview to download the papers. Enjoy the weekend! I'll be posting the elements on Monday.

Animal pics

Greetings and salutations! I hope you are not disappointed as there is no freebie for you. Today I am sharing some pictures that were taken last October when we went to San Diego to visit family and friends. These shots were taken at the Wild Animal Park using my Canon automatic digital camera. Since I don't know an aperture from an F stop I rely on an automatic. I do love Photoshop Elements recessed frame effect! The last photo of the okapi is a technique called "Out of Bounds" (OOB) which I learned from a great tutorial from Serrator. You can get his tutorial on how to do that here. The tutorial has a dinosaur on the front. I would consider him the master of OOB's. By the way, the okapi is my favorite animal. Can you guess what animal it is related to? No, not the zebra. It is actually related to the giraffe and is called the "rainforest giraffe". Just a little interesting trivia for you. Have a blessed day!
